The EasyTrace system can flexibly allocate lockers, by pupil or groups of pupils, by time or by location. This can be tailored around the curriculum and pupils' movement around the school to increase security and reduce carrying for pupils and staff.

A card reader will service between 25 and 30 lockers. The exact number will depend upon the location and size of the lockers, as it's inadvisable to have the locker door too far from the reader. When a valid card is presented to the reader, it will open either the allocated locker in the case of pre-determined allocation, or the next available locker if the system is set to 'Sports Mode' - a first come, first served principle.

In the unlikely event of a power failure, there is a physical key that can be used to open lockers.

To support your community and out of hours activity, temporary cards can be issued. Lockers used in this way can be configured to 'Sport' mode, giving lockers on a first come first served basis.

Administration of the locker system can be carried out by nominated administrator(s) on an individual pupil or group/class basis, remotely from a central office, or from any network connected device with appropriate access. As the locker allocation is associated with the pupil, not the card, lockers can be remotely and almost instantly allocated to pupils in response to short term changes in requirements, e.g. changes to timetabling or location of classes.

Administration staff have live control over every locker, allowing them to remotely open any locker as required. Therefore, if a pupil loses their card, immediate access can be given, rather than having to wait for a master key/card to be found and physically taken to the locker. To maximise utilisation, the system provides a live view of which lockers have been allocated.

Administrator staff can respond quickly to security alerts and remotely take control of lockers if required. In the most extreme case, administrator staff could take control of all lockers across the whole establishment, either opening or denying access.

A locker can be any size, shape, or colour and made from any material. The most common material combination is mild steel for the framework and solid grade laminate for the door. This combination has proved enormously resilient to the rigours experienced in the education sector, whilst allowing architects the flexibility of material feel and colour to achieve their required design.
