Frequently Asked Questions
How does EasyPrint work?
When a print job is sent to print, it is queued on a print server until the user releases it by placing their ID card on the reader at any of the managed printers on the network. If the user has sufficient credit, the selected job will be printed. If the user does not have sufficient credit they can top up the card themselves using one of the account loaders in the school, or online via ParentPay. Click here for more information.
What if a student forgets their card?
The administrator can automatically or manually allocate 'free' print / copy credits, raise credit limits, or freeze accounts. Accounts can be run in debit or credit mode; i.e. paid in advance or settled at an appropriate time. Users may be given access to multiple accounts, for example, their own, departmental and administration accounts.
What if a student loses their card?
The card can be immediately disabled and a temporary replacement is issued. Each card holds no value - the money is held on the central database. If someone attempts to use a disabled card, the system rejects it as an invalid card.
How does the 'cost per page' solution within EasyPrint work?
Essentially the cost of toner, maintenance, support and servicing is calculated down to an average price per page based on basic printing quantities and type of print/copy data. This figure is then all you pay - no unexpected costs, no consumables to keep buying and storing and no worries around expensive breakdowns.
How is money credited to a user account through an Account Loader?
A student inserts or swipes their card at the account loader. The LCD display on the account loader displays their name and current balance. The student inserts into the coin / notes slots the money that they wish to be credited to their account. Users who have multiple accounts are able to select which account they wish to credit. The money is automatically credited to the user's account and the student removes their card.
